Australian recorder community - communication option!

hello all

this could be a good place for sharing questions between the committees of the various recorder networks around the country...

At the Victorian Recorder Guild we're thinking about how we go about paying our tutors, especially when they travel from interstate.

What do other associations do?

Always a difficult question. The SSRP pays the tutor the going rate + travel expenses and in the case of a weekend workshop all accommodation and meals.

  2. Thanks, Barbara

We've been thinking this has to be the way to go. In the past we've expected tutors to pay their own costs, apart from the meal after their session, but from their comments we've decided that we can really only expect that if they are our members who would have been coming anyway.
However it does have cost and/or program implications.

We have 3 big blows, 2 special sessions, and 5 home groups) - adds up to 25.5 hours of tutor time, plus we have a performance session and a tutor concert. Is your program structure similar?

This year our charge was $295/$275 concession or early bird, including accommodation (2 nights, 6 meals). What do you charge your program participants? and what does it cost them all up, including basic accommodation?

I'm wondering what we could adjust...
